Mumbai - part 1
Mumbai is one of the greatest shopping destination and thats enough for me to know about the city. This is one place where if you are from IT you are not looked upon at. There are far more people earning almost triple the money you earn. Mumbai also does not have the following :
Mumbai trains are the fastest and cheapest means of transport. But try reaching to your place of work by trains and this song will echo in your minds "Sorgame endralum adhu namoora pola varuma". Its a race against race. Think about shopping and you can bump into any malls just if you step out of your house. You will be surprised to see families spending their time absolutely there over the weekends. Everything is aplenty there. If you are leading snail-paced lifestyle things will zoom around you if you are here.
Some of the cheapest shopping places are :
Something that will bowl you over about the city is the infrastructure. The awesome roads (or should it be called highways?). There was a plan to widen a linking road and there were mosque, temples and gurudwaras in the stretch. These were demolished and an alternate site was provided for constructing those. I was amazed to see this. More to continue in part 2.....
- No IT parks in suburbs or no land especially allocated for building huge IT parks
- You do not have to pay a penny extra than the meter reading in autos. Infact you have to just pay a Re.1 less.
- Lot of weekend getaway places
- You cannot exhaust the list of malls, multiplex and restaurants spread across the city

Yaavarum Nalam
Stars Madhavan and others. Mostly the script revlolves around him. The movie portrays maddy as a upper middle class man who along with his brother gets a brand new apartment. What happens after he moves into the apartment? It brings a lot of happy moments to his family at the same time strange things happen in the house. Bad omen sets in from the very first day. The ladies in the family gets hooked to a tv serial which starts its first episode from the day they enter the house. One cannot fathom why Maddy alone is able to relate the tv serial to the happenings in his house but other ladies who watch it almost not missing a episode are dummies? And why does the killer hallucinates with the occupants of the house? I felt the movie could have been sensibly handled but well since its a horror flick one may have to go beyond that sense.
The director needs to be applauded for a very different approach and for maintaining the edge-of-the-seat thriller till the end. The story takes a steep turn when maddy begins to investigate who is behind the making of the serial and finds the horrifying truth. A gripping tale !The movie is a must watch.
1.Break the thumb-rule
2. Do not plan for a movie seeing the history of movies directed by the director else you will miss this movie.

Regularly Irregular
Its void. Its been two months since I updated anything in my blog. I have not been posting regularly for the past four months too. I am not stuck with writers block or whatever blog jargon we call it with. Also I am in no mood to simply post something to keep my blog alive.
But then my link is almost dead for long and its high time I rescue it. This is not any come back posts because I am already there present just that I have been a silent spectator of everyone's blog including mine. Today I had time in the morning so just thought of going through evreyone's blog which made me realise I have been living in blackhole. I have had a enjoyed every moment in blog world and I have been missing all this joy lately. I have been totally cut out of this world.

Hyderabad Blooms!!!
In these two months i managed to visit few of the tourist destinations in Hyderabad. Thanks to the ex-CM, the roads in Hyderabad are well connected and well maintained.
(Sorry for the bad quality of pictures, i took them using my mobile)
- Chilkur temple: This is a wonderful and famous temple located far off the city. Roughly around 15kms from the heart of the city. Compared to the size of temple back in Chennai/Tamilnadu, the size is small yet attracts a lot of devotees. There is a superstitious belief that if we come and pray here we'll get our US visa. So its called the visa temple.
- Golconda Fort: One of the most famous tourist destination in Hyderabad. Its situated 10km from the old city. This fort is built on an isolated hill and is more famous for its acoustic effects. Most part of the fort are almost in ruins now. We can catch a good glimpse of the city from the top of the fort. The entrance fee is frugal just Rs.10
- Salarjung Museum: This museum took me by surprise cos im not very fond of museums. I have rarely visited museums in my life. Infact i have not even visited the museum in Chennai once. This museum is just 5km from golconda fort and is located pretty close from there. There are a lot of attractions in the museum. The Nizam's dresses, all theirs and their ancestors artifacts, paintings, handicrafts, ceramics were just mind blowing. The painting and the other show pieces are must seen things out there in the museum.
- Charminar: This is almost like the symbol of Hyderabad and is called the old city of Hyderabad. This stretch is alone over crowded there. The shopping paradise of Hyderabad or the pearl city. The best place to get pearls, sarees and bangles which are very famous there. One need to know Hindi and should bargain atleast 50% of the quoted price. I visited this place thrice and the mecca masjid is situated right next to charminar.
Its a beautiful mosque with a huge pond and we can find a lot birds fluttering around.
- Hussain sagar lake: It is one of the largest gathering place for recreation. The lake is the venue of many a water sporting events. There are normal and speed boats available. There is a huge Buddha statue situated in the middle of the lake. So if we travel by the ordinary boat we can get down near the statue and look around and enjoy the serenity.
- Lumbini park :
A new amusement park at tank bund. It has a musical fountain and laser show which is awesome. The laser show is between 6:30 and 8:00pm. Its one of the must see places in Hyderabad. It has beautiful lawns which is well gardened and the boating to the Buddha statue starts from here.
- NTR park :
This park is built in memory of the popular hero there. This place is unique for its topography landscape and a lot of attractions are available for kids. This park is as huge as lumbini park and is located just opposite to lumbini park.
- Birla temple : This beautiful white marble temple of Lord Venkateshwara is built on a hillock. This exquisite temple has great sculpture excellence and a profusely carved ceiling. Its a beautiful sight at night when illuminated. standing against the dark sky and looking down on Hussain Sagar Lake.
- Shilparamam : Its a crafts village set amidst lovely rocks, rippling waterfalls and gorgeous lawns located at Madhapur. It is also the cultural hub of the city hosting several cultural programmes all around the year. This place also has variuos stalls where we can get a variety of dresses, pearls and artifacts.

Those were the best days of my life...
Two months seemed to have just gone in a whoosh. It was ultimate fun in hyderabad for two months at ILP. I never thought i'll miss these days. The people, the fun, the laughter we shared will remained etched forever in my memory. I never felt so much when i left my college. Most of the days were real hectic but still the ambience was buoyant. We were all sailing in the same boat and there was absolutely no competition amongst us and we learnt a lot especially to mutually coexist. Though most of my colleagues will be joining at the same place I still miss few others or rather our training centre, the bad food and the beautiful roads hyderabad is adorned with.
Time is rolling by and life is changing and im unable to keep pace. I still sit and brood and wish i could turn back time. I visited most of the tourist spots in hyderabad except the very famous film city. Inspite of having a hectic schedule last week, i did quite a lot of shopping and i got back home came with excess baggage and paid the penalty. Yet only four more days out here and again pack my bags to continue my journey of life...
